197 used a health pack and quickly called out the enemies' positions. Yan Zhun drank a bottle of Painkillers. "I'll throw a 'nade, you flank from the left, I'll push the front."
The two of them raised their guns and rushed in. Yan Zhun knocked down two with two sprays of bullets, while 197 successfully stole a kill on his end.
"They're all dead. Mine was an instant kill, we can loot now." 197 lay prone on the grass. "You're strong, bro."
Yan Zhun didn't speak. The faint sound of a suppressed sniper rifle came from the distance. He moved to the right and scoped in to take a look.
Who would have thought that before he could even find anyone, several gunshots rang out from behind them.
197: "Fuck! Someone's flanking us! Dammit, another team..."
The words had just left his mouth when two kill notifications popped up in the top right corner. Both 197 and Pei Ran had been knocked down.
Yan Zhun reacted extremely quickly, turning around and immediately scoping in to spray one down. Before the enemy fell, he managed to fire two shots at him, and Yan Zhun's health bar instantly turned pinkish-red.
Yan Zhun was in a good position. 197's heart was in his throat. "There's one more, don't rush, don't rush, use your meds first, that guy seems to be going to finish off Baby Ran..."
Before he could finish his sentence, he saw Yan Zhun cancel the action of using meds, raise his gun, and charge forward.
197: "???"
Pei Ran's "Don't" had just reached his lips when Yan Zhun had already rushed into his line of sight.
In the few seconds that Yan Zhun was in a gunfight with the enemy, Pei Ran felt like his chest was going to explode.
When Yan Zhun completed the kill with a sliver of health, Pei Ran let out a heavy sigh of relief and couldn't help but lean back. He released the mouse, only to discover that his palm was covered in sweat.
...That was too intense.
"Holy shit! Holy holy holy shit! Bro, other people play games, you play with people's heartbeats." 197 struggled to crawl over to Yan Zhun. After getting knocked, he had taken two more hits from the enemy, and now his health bar was almost empty. "Bro, hurry and revive me."
The words had just left his mouth when 197 watched with wide eyes as Yan Zhun walked away from him, heading straight for Baby Ran, who was behind the slope and still had more than half his health.
"Do you have meds?" Yan Zhun asked.
Pei Ran snapped back to reality. "Yes."
"Good, go loot the crates. They're full of them up there."
197 wailed, "It's over, it's over, it's over, I'm a goner, I'm a goner, I'm a goner..."
Fortunately, Yan Zhun wasn't completely heartless. When 197 only had a final sliver of red health left, he revived him.
"Bro, you really scared me to death." 197 was aggrieved. "I crawled right next to you, and you didn't revive me. What were you thinking, bro?"
Yan Zhun said, "Thinking about my boss."
Pei Ran: "..."
197: "Your boss still had more than half his health!"
"This guy might have had teammates. What if they finished him off?" Yan Zhun loaded his 98k. "If you died, I could still try my best to carry you to a chicken dinner."
197: "?"
"If he died, I could only grenade myself."
197 was silent for a moment. "Fine... anyone who knows would say you're a top-tier game companion. Anyone who doesn't would think you two are gay."
Yan Zhun watched as the character in front of him came to a dead stop.
A few seconds later, BabyRan started running forward again, and the microphone icon in front of his ID flashed. "Yeah, such a good game companion is only twenty yuan an hour, on the XX App..."
Yan Zhun chuckled, uncontrollably pressing the mouse button. The running game character threw a heavy punch at the air.
The two of them played until four in the morning.
Pei Ran was so engrossed in the game that he completely lost track of time. It wasn't until Yan Zhun suggested they take a break that he realized how late it was.
Pei Ran had just gotten into bed when his phone sounded.
[Yan Zhun: Was my service good?]
[Pei Ran: Very good]
Feeling that was too perfunctory, Pei Ran added another sentence.
[Pei Ran: Really]
[Yan Zhun: Mm, it's my first time doing this, I don't have experience]
[Pei Ran: Have you gotten any new orders?]
When Pei Ran sent this message, Yan Zhun had just opened the backend of the game companion app.
In one night, he had received over forty orders for his game companion services.
Thinking of Pei Ran's serious tone when he was advertising for him, Yan Zhun covered his face with his hand and couldn't help but laugh.
[Yan Zhun: No, my market value doesn't seem to be very good]
Pei Ran held his phone and thought for a while, then dryly typed out a "Keep it up."
Before he could send it, he received another message.
[Yan Zhun: You really think I played well?]
[Pei Ran: Really.]
[Yan Zhun: Then do you want to buy a little more of my time?]
Pei Ran froze.
[Yan Zhun: Grand opening sale. If you buy a bit more, I'm all yours for the entire holiday]
[Yan Zhun: Okay?]
[Yan Zhun: Boss Pei]
