Chapter 42 - Gift

When encountering those guys from the Male Zerg Protection Association, Female Zerg generally had no ability to resist. The only ones who could make decisions were the Male Zerg. Now that they had left empty-handed, what had transpired was unknown, but the only thing that could be certain was that Major General Arno's Male Master had not handed him over.

Chu Sui had no idea that the discussion about this matter was raging on StarNet, and that the residents of Zerg Star couldn't wait to use him as a model Male Master. After finishing his meal, he returned to the bedroom, sitting in a chair playing games on his Light Computer while digesting his food.

Arno was downstairs clearing the dining table. He came upstairs afterward and knelt by Chu Sui's leg, still dressed in a crisp, ascetic military uniform, so neat that not a single crease could be seen. "Male Master, there are some urgent matters at the Military Department that need to be dealt with. I may have to go back for a while."

Chu Sui was in the middle of an exciting part of his game. Hearing this, he didn't even lift his head. "Oh, go ahead."

Some Male Zerg forbade their Male Monarch or Female Attendant from working outside, only allowing them to stay home and serve them. Chu Sui wasn't that deranged. If Arno didn't work, where would the money come from? Who would support him without money?

Arno probably knew he wouldn't stop him. His blue eyes looked at him, the frost within seeming to melt slightly. "Thank you, I will be back before dinner."

After speaking, he rose from the floor and left, quietly closing the door behind him.

The Empire's military was roughly divided into four systems, and the relationships between them were somewhat delicate. Arno had originally fought on the front lines, but due to a bloodline riot, he was forced to be transferred to the rear. He currently held a civilian post in the Fourth Legion, as was the case for most Military Female who married.

Because of his marriage leave, Arno hadn't been to the Military Department for some time. When he returned, he received many concerned greetings from his colleagues and was baptized by a wave of intense gazes. Everyone seemed to want to know if, after his partnership ceremony, he had been subjected to his Male Master's abuse like other Military Female.

But Arno's expression was normal, his movements were normal, and there were no signs of injury. His trusted aide-de-camp Fedi couldn't help but recall his last visit to the residence when he saw the whip marks on the Major General's body. He couldn't stop his eyes from glancing at him, but he quickly retracted his gaze and reported the military affairs from this period in a low voice.

It was unclear if Arno had heard him. He walked into his office, sat down in his chair, and only then gave an emotionless grunt of acknowledgment. While opening his Light Computer to log into StarNet, he ordered, "Have someone keep a close watch on the Capet Family these next few days. Report any movements to me."

Fedi could roughly guess the reason; after all, it was a huge uproar on StarNet. He couldn't help but worry upon hearing this. "Capet Ichi has held a grudge because you didn't marry him. If he slanders you recklessly, it will likely cause considerable trouble. And those guys from the Male Zerg Protection Association are not to be trifled with. Should we..."

His words trailed off, his voice fading into nothingness as he made a gesture, seeming to convey something tacitly understood.

Arno finally glanced at him, his body slowly leaning back into the chair. His fingertips tapped intermittently on the edge of the desk. His light-colored eyes seemed bottomless at first glance, making it difficult to discern his thoughts. "Now is not the time. The Fourth Legion is not yet under our control. Don't alert them prematurely."

Fedi nodded and offered another suggestion, "How about we ask His Excellency the Adjudicator to step in and negotiate with the Capet Family?"

Arno paused, this time replying with only two words, "No need."

After speaking, he uncapped his pen and pulled out a stack from the mountain of documents to the side. However, the tip of the pen hesitated, and in the end, nothing was written, leaving only a dark inkblot.

A Female Zerg in the prime of his youth could be abandoned, let alone one who was old and faded. Arno remembered the way his Female Father was given the cold shoulder every time he returned to the main residence. His movement paused, and the tip of the pen bent uncontrollably, dragging a twisted, dark line across the clean white paper, as if it had sliced open the past, causing memories from his childhood to break free from their cages.

A long, long time ago, every time he passed by his Female Father's door, he could hear muffled groans of pain from within, as well as the sound of a whip striking, lashing against flesh.

Not just once, but many times...

Arno didn't understand why back then, but his Female Father would only tell him, pale-faced, not to worry about it. Later, when he grew up, he understood.

They had no choice, only able to repeat the path of their fathers, generation after generation. After Arno got a Male Master, everything his Female Father had endured was reenacted on him.

But no one would find it strange, because society was like that. They were like bent springs, already twisted beyond recognition, yet completely unaware of it.

The image of Chu Sui suddenly appeared in Arno's mind. Inky eyes, inky hair. At first, he was no different from other Male Zerg—lazy, irritable, and would even whip him when angry. But later, he gradually got better, never laying a hand on him again, and had even protected him several times.

And that night...

Arno closed his eyes, recalling the Male Zerg's almost lingering kisses and demands. The heated gasps seemed to still be by his ear. He thought his body could withstand any pain, but under the other's embrace and kisses, he had been instantly defeated.

Chu Sui's days were as degenerate as ever. He finished his game, ate some snacks, then lay in bed to sleep, or he would log into his Zerg Star account to shop, shop, shop, just to kill time, without the slightest worry about his future destiny.

Seeing Chu Sui idle all day, doing nothing, the System was afraid he would become the Waterloo of its career. It flew to Chu Sui's side and patted his head with its wings: 【Do you still remember how you died in your last life?】

Chu Sui was lying in bed playing a game and answered perfunctorily, "I remember, so what?"

At that time, the Freedom Alliance had rebelled and seized control of the entire Empire. Ninety-nine percent of the Male Zerg had suffered, and he wasn't the only one.

The System once again gained a new understanding of his heartlessness: 【Have you not considered your own future?】

Who would have thought Chu Sui would say, "I have."

The System was shocked: 【You've actually considered it?】

I'm sorry, it had misjudged him.

Now that this serious issue was involved, Chu Sui stopped playing his game. He sat up straight in bed, unconsciously stroked his chin, and then said thoughtfully, "Actually, I have considered it carefully. Since I'm going to die sooner or later, I might as well enjoy life while I'm alive and try everything I haven't tried before. That way, it won't be a loss when I die."

System: 【...】

It would never have guessed in a million years that this was what Chu Sui came up with after so much thought.

The System felt that this was the most difficult host it had ever managed. It barely recovered from its shock and asked, unwilling to give up: 【Is that all?】

Chu Sui thought for a moment, then nodded. "That's all."

The System wanted to ask, then what was the point of your rebirth? To die again? Its body flew around the room before finally landing in front of Chu Sui again: 【You died so young, don't you think it's a pity?】

Chu Sui thought it was nuts. "What's the use of me thinking it's a pity? Others have to think it's a pity."

This... that was true...

The System was silent for a long time, still unwilling to give up. It once again began its attempt at brainwashing education: 【That way of thinking is wrong. Man can triumph over destiny. You have to try to change your fate with your own two hands!!! Understand?!】

'You're not the one who has to do it,' Chu Sui thought. Although the System had no waist or legs, its little mouth was more annoying than Tang Sanzang chanting scriptures when it started chattering. Chu Sui pinched his ears and placated it, "Alright, alright, stop nagging. It's so annoying. I'll think about it some more, okay?"

The System inexplicably felt its heart being stabbed: 【...】

Honestly, it had never talked this much before.

Chu Sui's thoughts were ultimately affected somewhat. He found himself lacking interest in playing games, losing several rounds in a row. He tossed the game console aside, sat down at his desk, opened StarNet, and after a moment's pause, typed the words "Blue Star" into the search bar.

He had typed these two words more than once, so familiar with them that he could recite all the search results that popped up on the StarNet page. But aside from a brief introduction, there was only a blurry picture.

The blue planet floated quietly in the universe, with white clouds, green plains and islands, its surface mostly azure blue, surrounded by thousands of stars, beautiful and vast.

Chu Sui watched quietly for a moment. 'I can't go back anyway,' he thought. 'Of course, I should live as happily as I can.' In ancient times, loyal and heroic figures far from their homeland would commit suicide to show their loyalty to their country. He couldn't possibly be expected to follow their example and become a loyal martyr for the planet, could he?

Chu Sui closed StarNet and sat in his chair for a long time without moving, until the sun gradually set and the room was shrouded in a dimness that reflected the colors of the sunset glow.

The Earth of millions of years ago could no longer be found, but the sun was still the sun of millions of years ago, floating quietly in the universe, unchanged for eternity.

Arno rushed back at six in the evening. He went straight up to the second floor and gently pushed open the door, only to see Chu Sui sitting cross-legged on the chair in a daze. The light wasn't on, so his figure was indistinct, just a black silhouette against the sunset glow outside the window, his side profile handsome.

"Male Master..."

Arno called out in a low voice, as if afraid of disturbing him. He silently turned on the light, and the room finally brightened. Chu Sui finally came back to his senses, glanced at the sky outside the window, and only then realized it was already night.

Arno knelt beside him as he had before, glanced at him, and then asked, "Male Master, what's wrong?"

Chu Sui scratched his hair, then put down his stiff and numb legs. His voice was lazy, "Nothing."

Arno spontaneously began to rub his legs for him. His hands were well-defined, slender and strong, as perfect as a work of art. "Then what would you like to eat for dinner?"

Chu Sui had eaten too many snacks in the afternoon. "Not hungry."

Hearing this, Arno glanced at the snack bags on the table and didn't try to persuade him further. He gradually stopped only when Chu Sui's leg was no longer numb. After a moment of silence, he took out a long, black velvet gift box from his pocket. "I passed by a shop today and thought this was very beautiful, so I bought it. I hope you will like it..."

To please Male Zerg, Female Zerg would often give them gifts to win their favor. However, Arno rarely did such fancy things; he usually just gave Chu Sui his star card to spend as he pleased.

Chu Sui probably also found it strange. He raised his eyebrows slightly, then took the box and opened it. Inside was a finely crafted silver necklace with a small azure glass sphere at the end, intertwined with green patterns, shimmering with light. It looked exactly like the Earth.

For some reason, Chu Sui didn't say anything, his expression unreadable.

Not hearing a response for a long time, Arno guessed that he probably didn't like it. He paused, then began to explain, "I happened to pass by the Celestial Museum today and saw they were selling commemorative items. They happened to have a Blue Star model, so I bought it. If you don't like it, you can throw it away..."

Before he could finish, the expensive necklace was casually tossed onto the desk by Chu Sui. The sphere at the end swayed and then clattered to the floor. He slammed the velvet box shut with a thud and threw it into Arno's arms without a glance. "I don't like it. Don't buy this kind of useless stuff in the future."

The box was heavy, and it caused a dull pain when it hit his shoulder. Arno was a beat too slow and didn't catch it. The box rolled onto the floor with a soft thud.

Chu Sui didn't turn his head, seeming to be lost in thought.

Arno forced a smile. "...I'm sorry. I thought you would like it."

After he finished speaking, he bent down to pick up the box. His gaze swept around, saw the necklace lying quietly in a corner, and was about to pick it up to throw away when he heard Chu Sui say, "Get out."

Hearing this, Arno retracted his hand. "Yes."

He quietly exited the room and closed the door. He unconsciously touched the shoulder that had been hit, his eyes lowered, his thoughts unknown. Then he slowly walked down the stairs and threw the custom-made box into the trash can.

Perhaps there were some things he was naturally incapable of, such as learning how to please a Male Zerg.

Recently, Chu Sui had been washing up by himself. Arno found his pajamas for him, then tidied the bed. He walked to the desk and searched around but saw no trace of the necklace. Just then, Chu Sui came out of the bathroom, lazy and sullen-faced as usual.

Arno took a towel and went to dry his hair for him. His hands, accustomed to holding various precision firearms, applied the force with remarkable accuracy—gently and softly, unlike his cold and indifferent appearance.

Chu Sui acted like a lord. He glanced at the time, then turned off the light. The room was plunged into darkness. "I'm going to sleep."

Hearing this, Arno thought he didn't require his services tonight and was about to leave when Chu Sui's voice sounded in his ear, "Did I say you could go?"

Arno's steps halted. Only then did he remember that he had displeased him today. He knelt down again, his knees hitting the floor with a muffled thud. His body was hidden in the darkness, only a vague silhouette visible. "I am sorry. Please punish me..."

Chu Sui paused. Perhaps it was his imagination, but his voice seemed to hold a trace of amusement. "The whip is gone, so how should I punish you?"

Arno paused, then drew a short dagger from his waist and handed it to Chu Sui with both hands. His voice was low and cold, "If you don't mind, you can use the military blade."

Chu Sui didn't take it. He sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at Arno. Then he reached out, grabbed his military tie, and with a tug, forced the other to lean closer. His voice was unreadable. "What makes you think I would like that kind of thing?"

A suffocating feeling came from Arno's neck, and a strand of his hair fell messily. He silently clenched the edge of the bed, struggling to steady himself, thinking that there was no escaping a punishment today. "I am sorry. I acted on my own. Please punish me..."

Chu Sui hummed in agreement. "You should be punished."

Arno silently released his hand, leaving several deep finger marks on the edge of the bed. He handed the military knife to Chu Sui, watching him quietly in the darkness. "You can use this."

His body was already prepared to welcome that sharp pain, but the next second, the military blade in his hand was thrown into the distance by the Male Zerg. Immediately after, his body was forced forward, falling into a warm and unfamiliar embrace. Then, Chu Sui's slightly displeased voice sounded from above his head, "I said I wouldn't hit you anymore."

Arno was pressed tightly against his chest. Hearing his words, his heartbeat instantly fell into disarray. He felt something cool and slightly hard brush past the side of his face. Looking closely, he saw it was the Blue Star necklace he had given him today. He couldn't help but stammer in a daze, "Male Master, you..."

Before he could finish, his vision spun, and his body suddenly sank into the soft bed. Chu Sui pressed down on him. For some reason, he remembered the day Arno had been drugged, crying with red eyes and whimpering beneath him. He lowered his eyes and said, "The gift is so-so. I won't punish you."

Being so close, he could even feel Chu Sui's warm lips. Stimulated by his pheromones, Arno's breathing became heavy. It was as if his bones had been removed in an instant, leaving him with no strength. He gasped with reddened eyes, "Male Master..."

The cold and clear voice was tinged with lust, the end of the sound raspy and alluring.

Chu Sui leaned down and kissed his lips, slowly tracing their shape, teasing the tip of his tongue. His voice was low, "Arno, be more proactive."

It was a common form of address, but when spoken from his mouth, it carried an indescribable meaning.

Arno had never been kissed by him while sober. His body trembled slightly at the words. Then he reached out and awkwardly wrapped his arms around Chu Sui's waist, beginning to gently respond to his kiss. His sexy Adam's apple bobbed up and down. He tilted his head back weakly, his thoughts in chaos, only knowing to repeatedly murmur two words, "Male Master..."

The originally neat military uniform fell to the floor, piling up into a crumpled mess.

Chu Sui had left a white shirt on Arno, but it was already loose and askew. He had Arno kneel on the bed, then wrapped his arms around his lean, flexible waist from behind, kissing his crimson lips, plundering all the air from his lungs.

"Male Master, I beg you..."

Arno's eyes were red, stimulated to the point of tears. His voice was low and whimpering. For the first time, he knew there was something in the world that could destroy one's will more than pain. His body twitched, shuddering convulsively.

Chu Sui changed his position. The thin silver chain had been taken off at some point and was now wrapped around his wrist. When it inadvertently brushed against Arno's cold, pale skin, it would bring about a slight itch.

Chu Sui studied the magnificent color of the glass sphere on his wrist, then looked at Arno's dazed blue eyes. In the end, he still felt the latter's color was more beautiful. He leaned down and kissed his eyes, then said in his ear, "Your eyes are still more beautiful."

After speaking, he leaned down again to kiss him, muffling the groan that was about to escape Arno's lips. The latter's thoughts were already in chaos, and he instinctively wrapped his arms around Chu Sui's neck, unconsciously responding to him.

Lingering pleasure could crush one's will more effectively than pain. Arno was a prime example. In the past, he could get up from the ground even when he was beaten until he was bleeding profusely, but now, in Chu Sui's arms, he was left with only enough strength to gasp for air.

His hair was soaked with sweat, and his blue eyes were covered with a layer of glistening moisture. In a daze, he remembered he had to serve Chu Sui by washing up. He struggled to get up but was pushed back down. "Wash in the morning."

Anyway, it was only a few hours until dawn.

Chu Sui was extremely sleepy. He hugged Arno's body, found a comfortable position, and then didn't move again.

Arno's every breath was filled with Chu Sui's scent. He quietly felt this unfamiliar embrace, his heart accelerating, the afterglow still lingering. He gave Chu Sui an unreadable glance, pursed his lips, and fell asleep in his arms.

The System usually didn't pop up at times like this. The next morning, while Chu Sui was soaking in the bath, it suddenly popped out with a whoosh: 【Have you thought it over?】

Chu Sui said lazily, "Thought what over?"

The System knew he had forgotten: 【Your future】

Chu Sui pouted. "How am I supposed to consider it? It's not like I can get a sex change."

The Zerg Race didn't have the technology to turn a Male Zerg into a Female Zerg.

The System was choked by his bizarre line of thinking. For a moment, it felt its heart turn to dead ashes and muttered to itself: 【You really are the worst one I've ever managed. Could it be that my expectations for you are too high...】

Hearing the System say he was the worst, Chu Sui was unconvinced. "What did you used to demand of other hosts?"

The System's tone was numb: 【Reform well, become a new person, become a CEO, and reach the pinnacle of life】

Chu Sui looked at it a beat late. "What about me?"

【You?】

The System said,

【Just staying alive is good enough for you】
