Chapter 80 - Chapter 69 Part 1

After Xing Yan left, Qin Fang lay there in a daze for a while, guessing he had gone to Si Tu's room.

Actually, Qin Fang had wanted him to stay, but couldn't think of how to say it. By the time Xing Yan had walked out, it was too late to ask him to stay. It was true that sharing a room with Xing Yan made it a bit hard for him to fall asleep, but it wasn't because he felt uncomfortable.

There was no discomfort, what was there to feel uncomfortable about?

Xing Yan was overthinking it. After all, Qin Fang was still a patient. After showering and changing clothes, he felt much more comfortable. His mind wandered for a while before he fell asleep again, sleeping all the way until daybreak.

His phone showed it was almost 10 o'clock.

He had slept for nearly twenty hours from yesterday afternoon until now, leaving his whole body feeling limp. Qin Fang stood up and stretched his arms, slowly walking out. Han Xiaogong was sitting cross-legged on the living room sofa, playing on his phone.

The sunlight outside was very nice. For a moment, it seemed like he had returned to two or three years ago. Back then, every day when he came out of the bedroom, Han Xiaogong would be sitting casually on the sofa, occasionally accompanied by the sound of Si Tu playing the piano in his room. Qin Fang stood there for a while. Han Xiaogong looked at him and smiled, "Staring at me in a daze again?"

Qin Fang also smiled and gave an "Mm" before walking towards the bathroom.

After washing up, he felt completely revived. After all, he was young and had great stamina. The exhaustion from enduring illness for two days had passed after getting enough sleep. He walked over and sat on the sofa. Han Xiaogong asked him, "Feeling better?"

"Much better," Qin Fang said.

The room was very quiet. Qin Fang looked around and asked, "Where are the others? Not up yet?"

Han Xiaogong said, "You mean Yan-ge?"

Qin Fang shook his head and chuckled, "And Zhou Siming."

Han Xiaogong said, "Zhou Siming is still sleeping. Yan-ge left."

Qin Fang was stunned for a moment and blinked, "Where did he go?"

"Where else could he go?" Han Xiaogong said blandly.

Qin Fang's mind went blank and he felt like he couldn't catch his breath. Xing Yan was so busy, of course he had to leave.

And Qin Fang hadn't expected anything to happen, he didn't even know what he could say to Xing Yan. But having Xing Yan leave just like that still caught Qin Fang off guard, with Xing Yan leaving without any preparation.

They had barely exchanged a few words in total.

"Did you two..." Han Xiaogong raised an eyebrow and asked, "talk at all?"

Qin Fang shook his head.

Han Xiaogong looked at him and said, "These past two days, I noticed you two seemed quite awkward when talking, feeling uncomfortable?"

"It wasn't uncomfortable," Qin Fang shook his head again, "Wasn't it quite natural?"

"Maybe it felt natural to you," Han Xiaogong smiled, "I rarely see Yan-ge so..."

Qin Fang raised his eyebrows, waiting for him to continue.

Han Xiaogong said with a smile, "...timid."

Qin Fang didn't know what to say. He still hadn't recovered from the fact that Xing Yan had left. They had briefly met, and then he was gone.

"The path is one you walk yourself. You have to bear the consequences of the path you choose," Han Xiaogong shook his head, "Everyone has to take responsibility for their own choices, him included."

Qin Fang lowered his head. After a while, he gave an "Mm".

After that, neither of them spoke. Qin Fang was lost in thought, and so was Han Xiaogong.

Until Han Xiaogong suddenly asked him, "Are you still single now?"

The question startled Qin Fang again. He raised his head, "What do you think?"

"I'm guessing you are," Han Xiaogong leaned his head back against the sofa and said, "If you weren't single, you probably would have left yesterday, getting all tangled up with your ex-boyfriend. I don't think you'd give yourself that opportunity."

Qin Fang thought about his words, then smiled and said, "That makes a lot of sense."

Han Xiaogong spread his hands. Qin Fang was someone who always kept things above board. But this time, Qin Fang shook his head and said with a light laugh, "...But I'm not single."

Han Xiaogong looked over at him. Qin Fang looked him in the eye and nodded, confirming, "I'm not single."

Footsteps came from behind them, someone walked in from the doorway. They both turned to look. Qin Fang blinked, watching Xing Yan walk in carrying a food container.

His last sentence was still ringing in his ears. Xing Yan lowered his eyes as he walked by and asked, "You're up?"

Qin Fang cleared his throat and acknowledged.

He turned to look at Han Xiaogong, his eyes shooting daggers. Han Xiaogong had just said Xing Yan left.

Han Xiaogong looked a bit innocent. He hadn't said anything, it was all Qin Fang's own imagination.

Xing Yan put the things on the dining table and said to Qin Fang, "You had a fever, eat something light."

"Okay." Qin Fang cleared his throat again. He had felt quite good after waking up, but now his throat was starting to feel dry again.

Xing Yan didn't really raise his head. After putting the things down, he went out. Han Xiaogong leaned his head back and asked him, "You're not eating?"

"You guys eat." After saying that, Xing Yan left.

His posture while walking was the same as before, very straight. Qin Fang looked back at his retreating figure, recalling how last night Xing Yan had asked him if he felt uncomfortable, then left the room. His not eating together with them was probably for the same reason.

"He went to cry alone, don't mind him." Han Xiaogong shrugged, indicating for Qin Fang to go eat, glancing outside and saying, "Since you're not single anymore, don't go soft-hearted. Eat your food."

Qin Fang raised an eyebrow, "Shouldn't you try to play matchmaker a bit?"

"What's there for me to matchmake when you're not single? I don't want to make things worse," Han Xiaogong laughed, "You're a sensible person, I don't need to say much. When you have someone by your side, you should look forward. Looking back will make things difficult for all three of you."

Qin Fang gave an "Mm" and unwrapped the food container. It was the clay pot porridge he used to love eating from that place, often having it for breakfast when he came here. Eating it now, the taste was a bit different from before, probably because they changed chefs.

He and Han Xiaogong had a great rapport. No matter how long they went without seeing each other, things never felt awkward between them. They were quite close. Qin Fang asked him how he was doing now. Han Xiaogong said he was doing well.

The two of them chatted as they ate, until Zhou Siming came downstairs.

Han Xiaogong called him over to eat. Zhou Siming came over and even greeted them quite calmly.

"Much more mature now, not biting people randomly anymore," Han Xiaogong said with a smile.

Zhou Siming glanced at him and said blandly, "You want me to curse at you a couple of times?"

Han Xiaogong stopped talking.

The three of them ate there. Xing Yan had gone off somewhere. Qin Fang actually felt a bit upset inside. He ate a couple more bites and stopped eating. He went out and saw Xing Yan sitting with his head lowered at the edge of the flower bed.

Qin Fang watched him. Xing Yan didn't move for a long time, sitting quietly and peacefully.

Later, Qin Fang called out to him. Xing Yan raised his head to look over. Qin Fang pointed inside, "Come eat."

"Mm." Xing Yan curled his lips, "Okay."

This was the first time Qin Fang had seen him smile since he came back, if you could call it a smile.
