Chapter 46

Fierce or Kiss? Part 2

Qin Fan lowered her gaze to Xie Yanli's arms around her waist. On the man's cold, fair, and strong wrist, the black Buddhist prayer beads still hung quietly over the back of his hand.

She could clearly see the exquisite and complex scriptures on the beads. Although she couldn't understand them, it didn't stop this string of beads from causing her intense discomfort.

The discomfort didn't come from the beads themselves; although she wasn't a Buddhist, she respected all faiths.

The reason for her discomfort was the origin of these beads, and the fact that they were a matching set with that woman who had a significant relationship with him.

Qin Fan abruptly turned her head, not allowing herself to look at any part of Xie Yanli.

She bit her lower lip tightly. "I don't care about your news at all."

What she cared about was his attitude.

So what if there was no more news about him on the internet? Everyone would still think that Mrs. Xie was Cheng Xi.

Even people in the industry might doubt in the future whether they had attended a fake wedding.

They might misremember that Mrs. Xie's surname was Cheng, not Qin.

This was the power of rumors.

Seeing her eyelashes tremble and her small white teeth biting her lower lip, Xie Yanli used the hand without the prayer beads to lift her chin, his tone light. "Don't bite."

Tears instantly welled up on Qin Fan's eyelashes. She opened her peach blossom eyes and suddenly said aggrievedly, "You're being fierce with me!"

Xie Yanli watched her suddenly burst into tears: "..."

He was so exasperated he almost laughed. "This is being fierce with you?"

Qin Fan opened her mouth, about to say more, when Xie Yanli's handsome face suddenly drew near, his breath inches away.

Then, his thin lips covered hers, scaring Qin Fan so much that she stopped biting her lip, only to end up biting her tongue instead.

The crystal-clear teardrop on Qin Fan's eyelash trembled precariously before... dripping onto Xie Yanli's cheek.

Feeling that spot of coolness, Xie Yanli's form paused slightly. He didn't forget to secure Qin Fan's wrist that still had the IV in it, but his kiss deepened.

She didn't know how long she was kissed.

Just as Qin Fan was about to have trouble breathing, Xie Yanli slowly and deliberately released her. His thumb wiped the corner of her lips. Her originally cherry-pink lips had returned to a glistening red, delicate and alluring.

Qin Fan's chest heaved. Her fingertips subconsciously clutched his shirt as she struggled to even out her breathing.

But then she saw his action again, and if she hadn't lost all strength in her wrist, she would have slapped this dog man.

It was clearly his fault, yet he used this method to shut her up.

Xie Yanli's slightly rough thumb pad brushed across her lower lip, which now had a teeth mark. "Like this—not being fierce with you, but kissing you—are you still going to cry?"

She knew he did it to stop her from biting her lip, but couldn't this person just speak properly?

Qin Fan raised her moist eyelashes to look at him. Such a handsome man, but what a shame he had a mouth.

Qin Fan no longer wanted to communicate with him. Out of sight, out of mind. "I'm sleepy. Don't talk to me."

Then she didn't lie down, just stared at him with eyes that had been washed clear by tears. The meaning was obvious: Help this fairy lie down.

Who told Xie Yanli to forcefully pull her up?

Xie Yanli, for the first time ever, backed down. With rare patience, he asked, "Cancan, what else are you dissatisfied with about me?"

Hearing this familiar pet name, ripples appeared in Qin Fan's dark pupils.

Xie Yanli had always called her a cold 'Miss Qin' or 'Mrs. Xie'. He rarely even said her name, 'Qin Fan'.

Suddenly, hearing her doubled-character pet name, which few people had used since her father passed away, spoken in Xie Yanli's rather cool voice, Qin Fan actually detected a hint of intimacy.

It was as if they were a real married couple.

Qin Fan subconsciously wanted to bite her lip, but she reflexively remembered Xie Yanli's threat and relaxed her lips again. "I'm not dissatisfied with anything."

"You are."

Xie Yanli propped his palm beside her, his gaze fixed on her. "What do you want?"

Meeting Xie Yanli's deep, profound eyes so unexpectedly, Qin Fan turned her head away as if she'd been scalded, averting her gaze.

Faced with a look like that from Xie Yanli, all her little schemes seemed to have nowhere to hide.

Glancing at the black Buddhist prayer beads so close by, Qin Fan even felt that her jealousy, her shame, and all her other negative thoughts were disgraceful and despicable.

What was she thinking?

She wanted Xie Yanli to throw away this string of prayer beads that was related to Cheng Xi, which he had carried with him for many years.

Xie Yanli's voice was soft and low. "Cancan..."

Qin Fan quickly covered her ears. "No, I said no! Stop calling me by my pet name!"

She was afraid that Xie Yanli's intimacy was just an act, designed to draw out all her dark thoughts, only for him to then indifferently mock her for them.

"Don't move around."

Seeing how fidgety she was, almost flinging the IV tube off, Xie Yanli skillfully placed her hand back by her side.

As the man's long, fair fingers supported Qin Fan's palm, the black prayer beads inadvertently slid across the delicate skin on the back of her hand. She could clearly feel the cool, rough carvings of the beads scrape against her skin.

Qin Fan's body flinched. She could no longer stand having this string of beads dangling before her eyes, as if mocking her.

Qin Fan suddenly pushed Xie Yanli away, pointed at his prayer beads, and said word by word, "What if I said, I want you to throw these beads away?"

"Xie Yanli, you asked me what I want. I'm telling you, I want you to throw this string of prayer beads away, and never wear them again."

"Will you do it?"

After Xie Yanli removed the needle from the back of her hand, he used a nearby cotton swab to press down on her delicate skin where a bead of blood was forming.

Upon hearing her words, Xie Yanli's fingertips paused slightly.

He probably never expected Qin Fan to say something like that.

After releasing her hand, Xie Yanli stood by the bed, subconsciously touching the string of prayer beads he had worn for ten years, which now rested in his palm.

The air in the hospital room was almost at a standstill.

Xie Yanli quietly raised his eyes to look at Qin Fan on the bed, whose gaze was clear and cold.

His tone became faint. "Mrs. Xie, anything but this."
